The Greyhound is one the oldest breeds of dogs dating back well before the time of Cleopatra. More recent owners included President Rutherford B. Hayes and General George A. Custer. This tall lean dog is the fastest of all the dog breeds and can be any color or combination of colors. The Greyhound is a sight hound, meaning they follow what they are chasing using sight, while they do have a sense of smell, they are not prone to use it as other breeds do.
