The Bedlington Terrier originates from England, approximately 1825. It is said the breed has the “Head of a lamb and the Heart of a Lion”. Their coat does require trimming by a professional groomer to keep it breed-correct. The AKC recognized the breed in 1886 as a member of the Terrier Group. They are slender and athletic in build, ranging in weight from 17 to 23 pounds. The Bedlington has a loving nature, and gentle fun temperament making him a great playmate for children, but also is an excellent hunter both under ground after vermin and above ground after hare.
